You've spoken in Round 1 of The Oklahoman's Burger Bracket. Enticing 8 voting is underway

3 hours ago 1

Your votes are in and the field of Oklahoma City burger restaurants has been narrowed from 16 to eight.

Every restaurant on this list makes a great burger, that's how they ended up here, and the first round of voting was close, with some spots winning by less than 15 votes.

Who will move on from the 'Enticing Eight?' That's entirely up to you.

Once again, with our bracket voting, feel free to vote multiple times, but avoid using bots to swarm the polls, we see the data and know when this happens. If an IP address is found to be submitting thousands of votes in a matter of seconds, we'll only count 10 votes for that IP address and disqualify the remaining votes to keep it fair.

And as always, be sure to have fun and consider heading out to physically support these local restaurants with your dollars to go with those votes!

Who will advance from the Enticing Eight to the Flavorful Four? Your votes will decide.

Spark vs. Charcoal Oven

Spark: With three OKC locations, Spark has expanded its burger slinging reach. Stop by for one of the retro-inspired shop's burgers, an order of pink fries and a cool custard-based treat. Where: 300 Oklahoma City Boulevard, 1121 NW 63rd St., Suite 5005 & 1332 W Memorial Road, Suite 101

Charcoal Oven: Charcoal Oven is a family-owned restaurant that has been serving OKC since the late 1950s. Where: 3604 N May Ave.

S&B's Burger Joint vs. Nic's Grill

Nic's Grill: Colin Farrell and Guy Fieri have both raved about the burgers at Nic's Grill, which also earned the No.1 spot among Oklahoma cheeseburgers on Yelp's 2023 list. Where: 1201 N Pennsylvania Ave.

Sun Cattle vs. Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler

Sun Cattle Co.: Film Row's resident onion burger spot garnered the attention of Mike Rowe, who revered their burgers after a visit, making it the most recent OKC burger purveyor to gain the praise of a national celebrity. Where: 800 W Sheridan Ave., Suite 400

Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler: Open since 1971, Johnnie's restaurants have been one family's love letter to the city, growing and changing alongside it. The burgers are served at both the original Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler locations and the new Johnnie's Kitchen and Bar locations. Where: Multiple Locations

Patty Wagon vs. The Garage

Patty Wagon: While Patty Wagon may appear unassuming, the menu might surprise you, especially because at any given moment you may get a chef's feature completely out of left field. The current offering is an "Old fashioned Slaw Burger" and always on the menu are a wide selection of burgers with various sauces and toppings. Where: 3600 N May Ave.

The Garage Burgers & Beer: The Hal Smith burger concept offers up a variety of burgers from the traditional to the more unique, even featuring toppings like peanut butter. Whatever you choose, you're probably going to need an extra napkin. Where: Multiple Locations
