Squeezing the life out of America
Despite Republicans’ spin that because President Donald Trump was different, he and his MAGA movement are what America needed, Trump appears bent on crushing America’s spirit.
How Republicans decided that plucking Trump — with his long history of racism going back to the 1970s — out of their large 2016 presidential primary field would “Make America Great Again,” is inexplicable.
Americans rejected Trump in 2020 because of his first term record, which included a delayed and dreadfully consequential response to COVID-19, which made America the world’s leader in deaths from the killer virus and caused significant hardship, especially among low-and middle-income Americans.
Nonetheless, Republicans made sure in 2024 that for the second time around, Americans did not elect a woman to lead America. Especially not a woman of color.

The fact that the popular vote was close shows there is still hope that America will someday join Mexico and several other countries in the grand experiment envisioned by Democrats.
Though Trump and Republicans have successfully banished diversity, equity and inclusion from the homeland.
Republicans herald “America First” as another major slogan.
“Bane of America” or “BoA” rings true.
Trump and Republicans clearly are squeezing the life out of America.
