National Weather Service issues wind advisory for northwest Louisiana, warns of strong storms

A wind advisory has been issued for northwest Louisiana by the National Weather Service until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, with wind gusts expected up to 40 mph.

"Tree limbs could be blow down and a few power outages may result," NWS said,

NWS is warning residents of north Louisiana and south Arkansas to be on the lookout for severe thunderstorms this afternoon. These storms could bring damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding and isolated tornadoes.

These storms are part of a powerful spring storm system that is moving from the lower portion of the Ohio Valley and sweeping across the mid-south.
