The Lyme-Old Lyme school system has hired a new assistant principal for Lyme-Old Lyme High School.
The district announced Thursday the appointment of Tom Bushnell, who starts his new job July 1, replacing Assistant Principal Jeanne Manfredi.
He currently serves as assistant principal at North Haven High School, where he’s been for four years. He has also taught social studies and math at schools in Guilford and Montville.
Bushnell has a Sixth Year in Educational Leadership certificate from The University of Connecticut, an M.A.T. from Sacred Heart University, and earned his B.A. from Connecticut College. Bushnell lives in Old Lyme with his wife and two children.
“Tom’s calm and friendly demeanor, along with his passion for working with young adults, made him standout from a very competitive field of 160 applicants. We look forward to Tom joining our team and continuing to build upon the success of Lyme-Old Lyme High School,” said Superintendent of Schools Ian Neviaser.
