Tree trimming on C.R. 10

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Engineer's Office has announced County Road 10 in White Eyes Township will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3p.m. daily from March 17 to 19 for tree trimming from County Road 425 to Township Road 181.

Choir rehearsals starting

COSHOCTON − Rehearsals for the Coshocton Singers and Coshocton Youth Chorale start March 18, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1500 Pleasant Valley Drive. Both choirs are part of the Coshocton Community Choir. Coshocton Singers is from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those in fourth to eighth grades. The youth chorale is for those in ninth to 12th grades and meets from 5:45 to 7 p.m. The spring concert will be at 3 p.m. April 27 at Coshocton High School. Food preservation workshops at library

ZANESVILLE − Ohio State University Extension Office of Coshocton County will be offering two free food preservation workshops at the Coshocton County District Library, 655 Main St. The first on the differences between water bath canning and pressure canning is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 19 and will feature viewing of different types of canners, jars and lids. The second from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 21 is making jams and jellies and will feature learning about equipment and recipes. Gardner speaking for Lenten luncheon

COSHOCTON − Father Tom Gardner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Peter Parish in Millersburg will be the guest speaker for the third Lenten luncheon at 11:45 a.m. March 1, at the Coshocton Presbyterian Church, 142 N. Fourth St. The topic is Connecting to God Through Lament, using text from Psalms 13 and 22. Churches assisting with the event are Emmanuel Lutheran and Isleta United Methodist. Donations are accepted to benefit Church Women United's youth clothing project.

WIC having nutrition fair

COSHOCTON − Coshocton County Women, Infant and Children will host a nutrition fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 20, at the Coshocton County Community Room, 637 Chestnut St. Food Connects Us is the theme. The event will feature food samples, prizes and hand-son activities along with car seat checks and booster seats being available upon request. Bluey will be taking photos with children. Event sponsored by Coshocton Regional Medical Center and CareSource.

Bakersville royalty having soup dinner

NEWCOMERSTOWN − Bakersville Homecoming Royalty are holding a soup dinner at 4 p.m. March 22, at Bakersville Community Church, 28164 County Road 97, Newcomerstown. The menu features soups, beef and noodles, chicken and rice, hot dogs, toasted cheese sandwiches, desserts and drinks. Proceeds will go toward the royalty program. This coming summer the princess category will be split for those in third to fifth grade and those in sixth to eighth grades. This will result in seven royalty categories.

Veterans aided by quarter auction

COSHOCTON − Nurses for Veterans will hold a quarter auction at 11:30 a.m. March 22, at the Coshocton Moose Lodge, 120 Main St. There will be vendor booths, 50/50 drawing, food stand and raffle baskets. Admission is $5 for one paddle with additional paddles available for purchase. Proceeds will to Operation Veterans Helping Veterans.

Dairy Service banquet set for March 21

COSHOCTON − The annual dairy banquet by the Coshocton County Dairy Service Unit will be at 6 p.m. March 21, at the Coshocton County Career Center, 23640 Airport Road. The 2024 dairy showmen will be honored and the crowning of 2025 dairy royalty will take place. Make reservations by March 17, to Maureen Pritchard Strutz at 740-829-2488.

Legacy Fund gala upcoming

WARSAW − The Legacy Fund of River View Local Schools is having a gala from 6 to 8 p.m. March 22 in the gymnasium of River View High School, 26496 Ohio 60, Warsaw. Tickets are $10 each and are available from the administrative office, any committee member and at the door. There will be a reverse raffle, appetizers, performances by River View bands and choirs, silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

Montgomery piano contest set

COSHOCTON − Finalists have been selected for the 37th annual Edward E. Montgomery Jr. Piano Competition at 7 p.m. April 6 in the Ivy Room of the Roscoe Village Visitors Center, 600 N. Whitewoman St. There were no senior finalists named. Junior division finalists competing for $250 are Clark Frischen and Jensen Hayes.

Pearl Valley Cheese nets awards

FRESNO − Pearl Valley Cheese recently competed in the 2025 U.S. Cheese Contest. It earned a gold medal in the Swiss Cheese category and silver medals in the Baby Swiss and Smoked Hard Cheeses categories. The contest had more than 2,400 entries from 31 states in more than 100 categories.

● Coshocton Port Authority will meet in regular session at 7:45 a.m. March 17, in the conference room of the port authority office, 534 Main St.

● River View Local Schools Board of Education will have a work session at 5:30 p.m. March 17, at the administration building, 26496 Ohio 60, Warsaw. It will be a school board member training workshop with a representative from the Ohio School Boards Association. The regular board of education meeting will be 5 p.m. March 18, in the high school library.

● National Alliance on Mental Illness Family Support Group of Coshocton County will meet in regular session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 17, at Allwell, 710 Main St. The topic will be "Hidden Blessings of Mental Illness."

● The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association annual membership meeting will be at noon March 18, in the Coshocton County Community Room, 637 Chestnut St. Frances Jo Hamilton of Heritage Ohio will be the guest speaker. ● A public hearing by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for draft permit renewals for two Class I non-hazardous waste liquid injection wells at Buckeye Brine of Coshocton will be at 6 p.m. March 27, at the Coshocton Community Meeting Room, 637 Chestnut St. Wells must be re-certified every five years.
