A search is continuing for an elderly Alexandria woman who was reported missing early Sunday morning.

Brenda Milo, 78, last was seen on Paige Street, which is in the Good Earth subdivision. Investigators believe she left on foot, according to a missing persons Facebook post from the Alexandria Police Department.

Milo has Alzheimer's, according to the post. She is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds.

On Monday night, a Louisiana State Police helicopter searched the area near Paige Street for hours. Not far from the spot she last was seen are fields and woods that border nearby Twin Bridges Road.

A news release from the department said detectives "worked tirelessly throughout the day and into the evening, conducting a comprehensive ground search and following up on any available leads."

The helicopter "provided an essential aerial perspective, expanding the search area and increasing the likelihood of locating Milo," it reads.

Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion said in the release that every available resource was being used to find Milo and that the department remains committed to bringing her home safely.

Anyone with information about Milo is asked to call detectives at 318-441-6416, dispatch at 318-441-6559 or Detective Clayton at 318-441-6461. People also can email information to APD-Detectives@cityofalex.com.
