The 67th annual Northeastern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair is set to bring together the top young minds of Northern New Mexico to showcase their STEM research — but they need some volunteers to make it happen.
The regional fair, with student participants from Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos and other communities, will be held Saturday at the New Mexico Highlands University Student Union Building, at 800 National Ave. in Las Vegas, N.M.
The regional fair serves as a preliminary competition — with the top senior division winners advancing to showcase their research on a global scale at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Known as the world's largest international pre-college competition, the Regeneron fair will be held May 10-16 in Columbus, Ohio.
The regional fair is asking for volunteers in four categories to help with the event, with no prior experience required for any of the following roles: judges, ushers and registration assistants, event setup and cleanup crew, and award ceremony support and activity organizers.
