A parole compliance check in Apple Valley resulted in an ex-convict being arrested on suspicion of drug- and gun-related offenses after he was found hiding on the roof of his home over the weekend, officials said.
The arrest unfolded shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday at a house in the 14500 block of Shirwaun Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies showed up to check on 38-year-old Gabriel Ryan Moore and ensure he was complying with the terms of his parole stemming from prior felony convictions, the agency said in a written statement.

According to law enforcement officials, he was decidedly out of compliance.
"During the compliance check the suspect, Gabriel Ryan Moore, attempted to evade deputies by hiding on the roof of the residence," the statement said. "This attempt was unsuccessful, resulting in Moore being detained."
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for the home, where they discovered about 40 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an un un-serialized pistol, or "ghost gun," officials said.
Moore was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sales, as well as as being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, county jail records show.
