Man charged with murder of 16-year-old boy near south London Tube station

A man has been charged with murder after a boy was shot dead near a south London Tube station.

Lathaniel Burrell was shot on Paradise Road near Stockwell Tube station at 3.21pm on Tuesday. He was treated by medics from London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service, but died at the scene.

Omar Prempeh, 32, was charged with murder on Saturday following the fatal shooting.

Prempeh, of Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, southeast London will appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said that Lathaniel's family "continue to be supported by specialist officers".
