MISHAWAKA — Marian High School is the subject of a shooting threat police don't believe is credible.
According to the Mishawaka Police Department, which is actively investigating the threat, the threat said it would occur on March 6. The department was made aware of the threat on Monday and said it originated on social media.
Police don't believe the threat is credible; however, the threat "is not being taken lightly in any way, shape or form," the department said in a March 4 press release. Extra officers will be visible in the area near the school this week, they said.
Police ask that anyone with information contact the department's Detective Bureau at 574-258-1684 or leave an anonymous tip with Michiana Crime Stoppers.
