A homicide investigation is underway after a double shooting in a residential neighborhood of York City resulted in one death, police said.
In a release, the York City Police Department said that officers were called to a reported shooting in the area of Front Street and Parkway Boulevard around 8:22 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2025.

When officers arrived, they discovered two victims with gunshot wounds, according to the release.
One victim was a 17-year-old male, police said, and the other was a 24-year-old male.

The 24-year-old male passed away due to his injuries, according to the release, and detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
On Wednesday evening, police tape was seen around the 600 block of Front Street, where officers searched the street and yards with flashlights.

Much of the focus appeared to be in the street, where several items were seen laying on the roadway.
A number of local residents gathered on their porches and peered through their windows while officers investigated the scene.
Anyone with information on the shooting was encouraged in the release to contact York City police.
