A Clinton woman has been indicted and arrested over allegations she physically abused a vulnerable adult. The arrest follows an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The TBI wrote in a news release that Tara Theresa Williams, 54, was indicted on a charge of abuse of elderly or vulnerable adult by an Anderson County grand jury last week, arrested March 10 and booked into the Anderson County jail. Her bond is set at $50,000. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office made the arrest, according to its jail website.

Last September, special agents with the TBI Medicaid Fraud Control Division began investigating allegations that a patient in an Oak Ridge residential facility was being abused, a TBI news release says. The facility was not identified by the TBI. The TBI received a referral from Adult Protective Services.
