Inde Navarrette and Josh Heuston Star in Sombr’s Vulnerable New Music Video ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’

Rising indie-alternative artist Sombr has released the highly anticipated music video for his latest single, "My Body Isn’t Ready," delivering an emotionally raw visual narrative that explores the complex intersection of romance and self-doubt. The cinematic release features a high-profile pairing, starring Obsession actress Inde Navarrette alongside Josh Heuston, star of the upcoming series Off Campus. Together, the actors bring to life a poignant story of young love hindered by the heavy burden of personal insecurity, effectively bridging the gap between dramatic television aesthetics and indie-rock vulnerability.

At the heart of "My Body Isn’t Ready" is an intimate confession of vulnerability, marking what critics are already calling one of Sombr's most introspective releases to date. The track directly tackles the paralyzing nature of body dysmorphia and self-consciousness within a relationship. With key lyrics such as, “I like you but my body isn’t ready / I want you but the mirror won’t let me,” the song captures the painful disconnect between desiring emotional intimacy and feeling physically unworthy of it. The music video mirrors this internal conflict, utilizing evocative lighting and tender yet tense framing to highlight the emotional distance that insecurity can create even between two deeply connected people.

Sombr, the moniker of singer-songwriter Shane Somer, has rapidly built a dedicated global following by translating deeply personal anxieties into atmospheric, guitar-driven indie anthems. Having initially gained viral traction on digital platforms for his signature melancholic sound, Somer continues to resonate with a generation navigating modern isolation and mental health struggles. By casting established talents like Navarrette and Heuston, the visual project elevates the song's thematic weight, blending the dramatic tension of a prestige romantic drama with the raw, unpolished sincerity of Sombr's signature bedroom-pop roots.
