Daniele Luchetti to Direct ‘Your Little Matter’ Starring Tecla Insolia; Fandango and Vision Distribution Team Up

Veteran Italian auteur Daniele Luchetti is set to return behind the camera with his latest feature film, Your Little Matter (locally titled Dove Non Mi Hai Portata). The upcoming drama stars rising Italian talent Tecla Insolia as a young writer who embarks on a deeply personal quest to uncover her parents' dark and painful past. Prominent Italian production house Fandango and major distributor Vision Distribution have joined forces to bring the project to fruition, marking another high-profile collaboration in the contemporary Italian cinematic landscape.

The film is adapted from the highly acclaimed, Strega Prize-nominated novel of the same name by Maria Grazia Calandrone. The narrative delves into a poignant, real-life mystery: in 1965, a mother left her eight-month-old daughter in Rome’s Villa Borghese park before tragically taking her own life alongside her partner. Decades later, that abandoned child—now a grown woman and an accomplished writer, portrayed by Insolia—reconstructs the events leading up to her abandonment. Through a combination of historical investigation and emotional reckoning, the protagonist attempts to understand her parents' desperation and reclaim her own identity, moving past the trauma of her origins.

Luchetti, a mainstay of European cinema, is renowned for his sensitive exploration of domestic tension and emotional vulnerability. His 2020 drama The Ties (Lacci) had the distinction of opening the Venice Film Festival, and he recently garnered international praise for directing the third season of HBO and Rai's critically acclaimed series My Brilliant Friend. In casting Insolia, Luchetti secures one of Italy’s most promising young performers. Insolia, who first gained national prominence in the music industry before transitioning to acting, has quickly built a reputation for delivering nuanced, emotionally mature performances in major television dramas and biopics.

The partnership between Domenico Procacci’s Fandango and Vision Distribution—the major distribution powerhouse backed by Sky Italia—underscores the high commercial and critical expectations for the title. Both entities have a proven track record of exporting premium Italian dramas to international festivals and foreign markets. Production on Your Little Matter is expected to leverage Italy's rich atmospheric landscapes, tracing the protagonist's journey from modern-day inquiries back to the stark social realities of the mid-1960s. For Luchetti, the film represents a return to deeply intimate, character-driven storytelling, promising a powerful cinematic exploration of memory, motherhood, and reconciliation.
