1 man dead, 1 hospitalized after shooting each other in early morning dispute

WOODLAWN, Va. — Two men shot each other, leaving one dead and the other severely injured early Thursday morning, police said.

Fairfax County Police responded to the 8400 block of Madge Lane in Woodlawn around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, where officers found the two men. One man was declared dead on the scene, while the other was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say preliminarily, they believe the two men got into an argument before shooting each other. Police have not said whether the men knew each other before the dispute or if they were strangers. Neither of the men have been identified at this time. Police have not said what the argument was about.

The area of 8400 block of Madge Lane is primarily residential, with multiple apartment complexes around the street.

This investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information on this dispute to call 911.
